CERTIFICATE IN MEDIATION, PRE-DISPUTE RESOLUTION,
RESOLVING COMMUNICATIONS CONFLICTS,
AND OTHER ADR STRATEGIES

Training Scheduled by Organizational Request

Great course! I highly recommend it for those interested in mediation or increasing their listening and communications skills!. Your training made a difference for me! Thanks! ~ Cindy

Many alternatives are now known for solving conflicts, yet we too often find ourselves getting dragged into old win/lose, or "hide it under the carpet" styles. This course will help you know when and how to apply new strategies - and to feel comfortable in doing so! Controlling costs and building strong interpersonal relationships are two of the valuable results from knowing how to resolve conflict promptly. Workplace conflict including EEO, labor-management, public policy disputes, and conflict in families and neighborhoods are some of the many areas where alternative dispute resolution is appropriate and highly effective.

In this innovative educational experience you will gain familiarity with the Spiral Dynamics Values Model and the 8 developmental worldviews which all human beings share. The connection between Emotional Intelligence and conflict will be explored and applied throughout the training. You will learn the key steps of pre-dispute resolution and mediation, core communication and negotiation strategies. You will gain significant experience in applying the techniques covered for pre-dispute resolution and for mediation, and will learn advanced skills in conflict resolution. These competencies are highly useful for all professionals, both in the workplace and in personal situations.

The 40-hour class is approved for 45 CLE credits, including 7 ethics credits and meets or exceeds the 40-hour recommendations for many mediation programs.
