The EQ 360™ is a statistically valid and reliable multi-rater report which probes deeper than the self report found in the EQi. It provides the ability to have those who work closely with the client provide information as well. It highlights key employee strengths and impediments to high performance, along with areas that could be developed for maximum functioning. It is a great tool for coaching as it can be used to follow up and measure progress over time.
The EQ 360™ gives the individual an EQi report which identifies the level emotional and social functioning based on his or her responses. It then compares that to the results from the others he or she requests to provide feedback. The client may choose raters for any of six rater groups – managers, peers, direct reports, clients, family / friends. The client's results are compared to each group and to the raters as a whole.
The BarOn EQ 360™ uses a third person, 5-point rating scale that is similar to the EQi, and which provides a Total EQ score, 5 composite scale scores, and 15 subscale scores. Results are provided in a comprehensive 20+ page Report that identifies self v. rater scores at each of these levels, and notes response frequencies for all items.

Prior to the Training:
- You will receive materials to review and prepare for the training
- You will complete your own EQ 360 on line - you take the EQi and line up a minimum of 6 raters to take the measure. This provides you with direct experience with the 360 measure.
- You will receive a personal debrief of your results. Note, it is preferred that this be accomplished prior to the training. If that may not be possible, please discuss it with us.
After the Training
- Complete a 360 (which is provided as a part of your tuition)
- Complete a written paper within one month reviewing your learnings and the results of this initial 360 application.
Your Instructor:
Marcia Hughes, J.D., M.A., co-author of the Emotionally Intelligent Team and Emotional Intelligence in Action, is a Certified Trainer for Multi-Health Systems for the BarOn EQi and the EQ 360 and has been providing certification trainings for several years. Marcia offers motivational speaking and workshops, organizational consulting, leadership and team development, negotiation assistance on complex multi-party matters, and mediation. Frequently working with teams in high conflict, Ms. Hughes trains and consults through numerous formats including emotional intelligence seminars. Additionally, in her diverse consulting and training background, she has assisted organizations of all types in addressing: diversity matters, effective communications, conflict management, principled negotiation, collaborative decision-making, sexual harassment prevention, effective response to criticism, and facilitation. Ms. Hughes holds a J.D. with honors from the National Law Center at George Washington University and a Masters in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Denver.
