Collaborative Growth is pleased to present Certification Workshops on Emotional Intelligence through use and application of the BarOn EQi and EQ 360. Successful participants are certified by MHS to purchase and administer the BarOn EQi. We offer public certification programs, or we can develop a custom presentation at your location. Overview:
This training course will include detailed information and instruction on the administration, scoring, interpretation, development, reliability and validity of the BarOn EQi. It will provide you with the information you will need to make educated and informed decisions regarding your employees or clients. This is a blended learning process, tapping into on-line pre-work and 2 days in person.
Topics will include:
- The history of emotional intelligence
- The development of the BarOn EQi
- Differentiating the EQi from other EI measures
- Joint application of the EQi with other measures such as MBTI, Emergenetics, and FIRO-B
- Numerous case studies with guidance on how to interpret results and give constructive feedback
- How to use the BarOn EQi for recruitment and employee development
- Ethical use of the BarOn EQi in employment and development settings

About the Presenter
Marcia Hughes, J.D., M.A., co-author of Emotional Intelligence in Action and author of Life’s 2% Solution, is a Certified Trainer for Multi-Health Systems for the BarOn EQi and the EQ 360 and has been providing certification trainings for several years. Marcia offers motivational speaking and workshops, organizational consulting, leadership and team development, negotiation assistance on complex multi-party matters, and mediation. Frequently working with teams in high conflict, Ms. Hughes trains and consults through numerous formats including emotional intelligence seminars. Additionally, in her diverse consulting and training background, she has assisted organizations of all types in addressing: diversity matters, effective communications, conflict management, principled negotiation, collaborative decision-making, sexual harassment prevention, effective response to criticism, and facilitation. Ms. Hughes holds a J.D. with honors from the National Law Center at George Washington University and a Masters in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Denver.
About The Workshop
Workshop Preparation:
- Upon registering, you will receive access to take the BarOn EQi®, you will also receive a copy of the book The EQ Edge, and the Technical Manual.
Before the workshop, you are required to:
- Complete the BarOn EQi® on-line prior to workshop date.
- Accomplish certain pre-reading.
At the Workshop:
- You will receive a workbook with study notes
- You will complete a multi-choice, open book questionnaire on-line prior to the training. All topics are covered in the on-line training designed to support your success. You will also complete a questionnaire on the 3rd day, which will apply your learning to interpreting a sample measure.
- You will receive your own one-on-one feedback with a qualified practitioner
Workshop Fee: $1597
Workshop payment is required in full upon registration via credit card or, check. The fee includes all materials received before or during the workshop. You will be responsible for payment of all travel and accommodation expenses. Contact us for group discount rates. Discounts are provided when you combine this course with the EQ 360 Certification and the EI Curriculum Training.
Cancellation Policy:
A refund will be given to those who provide written notice of cancellation three (3) weeks or more prior to their scheduled training session. Refunds are subject to a $400 administration fee for cancellation and will be made only after all materials distributed are returned without any markings prior to any refund. No refund will be given for cancellations less than two weeks prior to training. A one-time request for rescheduling may be granted at the discretion of Collaborative Growth. Rescheduling must occur within one year.
Collaborative Growth reserves the right to cancel workshops up to two (2) weeks prior to the scheduled workshop date if attendance requirements are not met. Collaborative Growth will not be held responsible for any travel arrangements made due to the cancellation of a workshop.
